Moto Guzzi Super Alce 1948
The Superalce was introduced after World War two to replace the very successful Alce, a military motorcycle. The Superalce has various improvements and was used by the Italian military and Carabiniari.
According to the engine and frame number this model is from 1948/9. It is a very original model which has over the years been painted a couple of times in a green over the original olive green that is still visible in places. The bike is a runner and could be left as is but would also make a great restoration project.
The bike comes with an Italian registration document that suggests that it was sold in 1973 by the Italian Army or Carabinery. It still has the Roman number plate. The owner than sold the bike to a German Guzzi fan in 1979 where it was left. It still needs to be registered in the UK which is no problem, we can help with this.
Don't miss this fantastic icon, manufactured on the shores of lake Como.
