Vintage Leather Suitcase.
A fine tan leather suitcase with original leather handle. The case has a nice cream cloth interior with a blue oval label reading 'Elliston & Cavell Ltd., Oxford, everything for travelling'. There are traces of someone initials 'A.L.S.' and embossed above the handle is 'Guaranteed Fibre Foundation'.
Ideal to use on your vintage or classic car.
Elliston & Cavell was the leading department store in Oxford for many years until taken over by Debenhams in 1953, although the original name was retained until 1973. Jesse Elliston originally owned the draper's shop in Oxford, when his sister married John Cavell in 1835 he made John a partner in celebration of the marriage.
