VINTAGE MOTOR RACING HELMET, HERBERT JOHNSON.
A good peaked silver motor racing helmet made by Herbert Johnson. The helmet has a cork interior, fitted with a leather headband with linen neck and ear protectors and a chin strap, all with leather strapping. It also comes with a pair of motoring goggles. There is a Herbert Johnson trade label inside that states "specially made for Vilém B. Haan, Inc. Beverly Hills", there is also a plain cardboard hat box.
Vilém B. Haan was a well known supplier of luxury driving apparel and accessories from his trendy location on Santa Monica Boulevard near Beverly Hills. Hann had two lines of clothing. One catered to car owners and enthusiasts and offered luxurious driving coats, caps, sunglasses, and gloves, whilst the other focused on competitive accessories intended for racing drivers with a large line of racing suits, helmets, and driving gloves.
