Vintage luggage, Gladstone bag, Kit Bag.
An unusual brown leather square mouth 'Gladstone' bag with leather interior. The bag is fitted with sliding brass lock clips at both ends with an extra T-bar lock, a central push button brass lock, five brass studded feet and one carry handle. The bag has a very good decorative appeal and is in a usable condition. The lid is in two parts and opens flat to reveal a dark brown leather interior with a pocket and securing strap.
Gladstone bags are named after the 19th cent British Prime Minister William Ewart Gladstone; the bags are usually constructed of leather fitted over a metal frame.
