Red Leather Dressing Case

Vintage Gentleman's Leather Dressing & Correspondence Case.
A handsome vintage gentleman's leather dressing and correspondence case, beautifully crafted in burgundy grained leather and thoughtfully designed for the well-travelled gentleman. Compact when closed, the two sides of the case unfold, revealing a carefully organised interior dedicated to both personal grooming and letter writing.
One side is fitted as a complete toiletry compartment, housing two nickel silver topped glass bottles together with a grooming brush, each securely held in place by matching leather straps. The central section provides additional storage beneath leather retaining straps for a mirror and a pair of scissors, making excellent use of the compact design.
The opposite fold-out panel forms a fully equipped correspondence wallet, complete with compartments for stationery, envelopes and postage stamps. It also retains its original ink pen and blotting paper, allowing letters to be written while travelling. Each item is neatly arranged within fitted leather pockets, demonstrating the exceptional attention to detail and practicality synonymous with quality travel accessories of the period.
The rich crimson moiré silk interior provides an elegant contrast to the burgundy leather exterior, while the sturdy leather handle and secure fastening complete this sophisticated travelling companion. Beautifully made and highly functional, it reflects an era when craftsmanship and refinement were an essential part of everyday travel.
A wonderful and increasingly scarce example of a gentleman's combined dressing and correspondence case, presented in very good vintage condition.
