Patent Aluminium Headed Bogee Putter.
A good patent alloy head putter with original hickory shaft. The shaft is round terminating into a square shaft in the hosel. The shaft goes all the way through the hosel and can be seen on the sole of the club head which is also stamped '449, Registered No. 696418, The "BOGEE" Putter Model, Flat Lie, 10 Ozs 2Drs'. The putter head also has a ridge top, parallel to the face, to help with alignment, this is stamped 'Foster Bros, Ashbourne' and has a flanged back, the face with diamond, crosshatched markings.
The registered design number (Registered No. 696418) dating from 1924. The difference between a patent number and design number being, the patent protects the invention, focusing on functionality and how it works, whilst a registered design protects the visual appearance, such as its shape, pattern or ornamentation.
The measurements shown are the length of the whole club, the width of the face and depth of the head.
