A good playable hickory shafted gunmetal (brass) mallet putter with steel face insert crafted by Alex Anderson of Anstruther for the Army and Navy Co-Op Society Ltd. The face with diamond face markings. The shaft with repaired sued leather grip. The crown of the brass putter clearly stamped 'Anderson Anstruther, Army & Navy C.S.L., London, HOLD FAST, Special'.
The measurements shown are the length of the shaft with hosel and the width and depth of the face.
This club is identical to the "ZoZo" gunmetal putter with iron face insert that was first introduced by Alex Anderson of Anstruther in 1904 and promoted as being adapted for use with rubber-core golf balls.
