Early Dish Faced Golf Club, Gray Iron
Early Dish Faced Golf Club, Gray Iron
Antique John Gray Hickory Golf Club, Prestwick.
This early large head hickory shafted lofting iron with a concave smooth face is a fine example of John Gray's work. The back of the iron club head has an excellent deep name stamp ' Jn. Gray' and good crisp nicking around the hosel. The patina of the metal head is very attractive to collectors, Gray's clubs either lofter, cleek or track iron are scarce and therefore very collectable. The hickory shaft with a repaired leather sheep skin grip.
The measurements shown are the length of the shaft with hosel and the width and depth of the face.
