Antique Hickory Brassie Golf Club.
A typical period socket head persimmon wood driver by A. Andrews. This great looking club has a polished club head, pegged face insert, lead weight to the rear, traditional horn slip along the leading edge of the sole and a full brass sole plate, head is stamped 'A. Andrews, Northwick Park GC'. The hickory shaft fitted with a suede leather grip. Display club only, not a club to play with.

The measurements shown are the length of the whole club, the width of the face and depth of the head.

A. Andrews was the assistant professional at Verulam GC in 1920, Chas Wallis was the pro, and he only stayed for a year. He moved on to become the pro at the new Hill GC at Harrow. He stayed until the club was wound up following WW2. Although in that time the club was redesigned from the original Harry Colt layout and was renamed Northwick Park GC. Two courses were listed, an 18-hole and a 9-hole ladies' course. The renaming of the course coincided with the opening of the new railway station adjoining the club's course.
In April 1933 Arthur Havers and Abe Mitchell beat Percy Alliss and C A Whitcomb in a 36-hole exhibition four-ball match by one hole.
