Hammer Handle Lawn Tennis Racket.
A rare Victorian flat top lawn tennis racket with an unusual 'Hammer Handle'. The racket is with a nice ash frame with convex walnut wedge embossed in gilt 'The Club'. The frame is straight with a slight bevelled edge, it has original gut stringing with four rows of red trebling top and bottom and the unusual "Hammer" handle. 12 ½ OZ is stamped on the side of the handle.
In the past we have had an identical racket by F.H. Ayres with a Regd No. 37585,
