Riley 8ft Snooker Dining Table.
A fine quality early 20th century oak dining snooker, billiard, pool table by E. J. Riley Ltd., of Accrington. The dual height billiard dining table has good shaped and fluted square section legs and comes with five removable leaves. The Slate bed is covered with high quality baize . The leaves are stamped 'A8394', the base 'A8540' and the legs are stamped `E.J Riley Ltd Accrington`. The different numbers possibly means the table was refurbished by Riley at one time and different leaves were used. The purpose for the dual height is so the table is at the correct height to dine from (when in the low position 29¼ inches high) and with the use of the two cast iron handles on each end and the patent rise and fall lifters the table can then be raised to the correct height to play a game of snooker, billiards or pool (32¾ inches high). The table is in very good usable condition, plays very well with good cushions and clean playing cloth.
There is a set of snooker balls, 1 rest and 2 cues to accompany this table.
A great table for those who have limited space. A great work table when raised in the high position and with the table top on.
