Vintage Hickory Golf Club, No. 2 Iron.
A fine and nicely weighted line faced iron by Harry Amos. The hickory shaft with suede leather grip, the rear of the club head marked 'Rustless, 2 Iron, Warranted Hand Forged, Made In Scotland, Harry Amos (signature) Portsmouth, Special'. A very slight mussel back club.
The measurements shown are the length of the shaft with hosel and the width and depth of the face.
A great golf club iron in good original condition and very usable for modern hickory play. Approximate 21° loft & swing weight D7.
Harry Amos was assistant to Charles Mayo at Burnhill Golf Club 1914. He then saw war service and returned safely to become professional at Bramley Golf club in 1919, He was professional there for around 7 years, finishing at Great Salterns Golf Club, Portsmouth, around 1933.
