Antique Cann And Taylor Golf Club.
A typical period socket head persimmon wood driver, by Cann And Taylor. This great looking club has a polished club head, lead weight to the rear and the traditional horn slip along the leading edge of the sole. The head is stamped 'Cann & Taylor, Autograph Reg. No. 303868' with the J. H. Taylor "Autograph". The hickory shaft fitted with a suede leather grip.
The measurements shown are the length of the whole club, the width of the face and depth of the head.
A great golf club in good usable condition for modern hickory play. Approximate 8° loft & swing weight lighter than A.
John Henry "J.H." Taylor was best known for his fine British Open play, winning his first Open in 1894 and went on to win it a further four times.
