Novelty Desk Hunting Clock and Barometer
A rare and highly unusual late 19th-century novelty fox hunting clock and barometer. This striking brass desk piece features a 9 cm aneroid barometer and a 9 cm clock with black Roman numerals, both manufactured in Paris.
The instruments are attractively set within horseshoes, with a hunting horn between them and two crossed riding crops above - making it a wonderful item for any equestrian enthusiast or collector of sporting antiques.
The clock is running and currently ticking, keeping time. A local horologist has inspected the barometer and confirmed that the bellows within its mechanism have failed, so the barometer is not currently functioning.
Overall, this is an aesthetic and decorative piece with strong visual appeal and character.
