Silver Arrow Kilt Pin, Brooch
Silver Arrow Kilt Pin, Brooch
31392
Silver Archery Jewellery, Arrow Kilt Pin.
A nice single silver archery arrow with original brooch pin. The arrow is fully hallmarked on the rear of the flight, displaying the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for Birmingham and the date letter "O" corresponding to 1913. Along with the maker's mark "O & Co." in a diamond possibly for Oswin & Co, Broad Street, Hereford. This antique Scottish kilt pin, brooch, label pin is ornately decorated on the arrowhead, fletching and shaft.
Arrow motifs were popular in late 19th and early 20th century jewellery and could symbolise love (Cupid's arrow), protection, or an interest in archery - a fashionable and socially significant sport during the Victorian and Edwardian periods.
A charming and decorative example of archery-themed jewellery.
