Vintage Document and Writing Case.
A very good quality leather travelling writing, document case. The interior fitted in green leather with an expanding pocket, a holder for writing utensils, an ink bottle and a mahogany lift out pen tray. The case is the size of a small brief case, has a carry handle and is a very smart and useful item. The brass lock is with key (but not working) and is engraved with the name Robert Barclay. There is a paper label on the front of the case 'Ricemans Ltd., Deal'.

Ricemans was a department store established in the 1960's by Fred Riceman. During a fire in October 1964 Ricemans of Deal was burnt down and completely destroyed. Fred Riceman decided not to reopen the store in Deal and instead reopened a new department store in Canterbury.
