Vintage Hickory ESKIT Blade Putter
Vintage Hickory ESKIT Blade Putter
Golf Club, ESKIT Putter by Gibson.
A highly usable hickory-shafted wry-neck (offset) blade putter by William Gibson of Kinghorn, Fife. This classic club features a square handle that transitions to a more cylindrical shape nearer the hosel, aiding alignment during play. The putter is fitted with a polished leather grip and a club head with distinctive dot-punched face markings. The rear is stamped "ESKIT," along with "Made in Scotland" and "Wallie Tomlinson," and bears Gibson's well-known 'Star' cleek mark with a "G" at its centre. Gibson officially registered the 'outline star' cleek mark in 1906, although it had been in use since the business began in the 1890's.
The measurements provided refer to the length of the shaft including the hosel, as well as the width and depth of the face.
These hickory putters are not only collectible but also great fun to use. Ideal for a regular four-ball looking to add a bit of novelty to their game, perhaps with a forfeit twist: the winner of the match must use the putter in their next round.
