Antique Hickory Golf Club, 'Quiksite' Driver, Joe Anderson, Perth.
A good 1920's persimmon wood socket head driver with hickory shaft and tapering polished leather grip, all in very good original condition. The head marked Joe Anderson 'QUIKSITE' Perth with a dark polished finish and a pale alignment line. The club head has a Horn insert on the bottom edge, lead weight to the rear and a partial brass sole plate stamped 'Joe Anderson, 'QUIKSITE', Perth, Reg No.476676'. The shaft and leather grip are also marked with Anderson's details.
This is a good high quality golf club for the modern hickory player.
Joe Anderson was born in 1878 to a local prominent golfer. He ran his club making business for many years in Perth, Scotland, and patented several club designs 'QUIKSITE' being one of them. He also sold clubs under the 'OK' brand name.
