An original copy of the first thorough study of the British golf links courses, one for the true connoisseur. This is a hard bound copy with bevelled boards, in outstanding condition with green pictorial cloth cover, Gilt title:- British Golf Links. To the front cover is an image of a golf bag with clubs and a club, ball and sand tee box, spine with gilt lettering 'British Golf Links, Edited By Horace Hutchinson, J.S. Virtue & Co. Ltd' and image of three clubs and a mesh ball. Cover in great solid condition for age. The 1897 golf book with numerous engravings and photographs throughout, many being of the clubhouse buildings and players of the day. Frontispiece of St. Andrews Club House (Tom Morris in the foreground, others behind him) title 'British Golf Links, A Short Account Of The Leading Golf Links Of The United Kingdom, With Numerous Illustrations & Portraits. Edited By Horace Hutchinson. London, J.S. Virtue & Co., Limited, 26 Ivy Lane & 294 City Road, E.C. 1897'. As far as we can ascertain all 331 pages are there, slight foxing to edges and original brown endpapers. Pages bright white, no foxing, some blemishes and no former owners name of initials. A great addition to anybody's golf library.
