2¾" Hardy Brass Trout Fly Fishing Reel.
An early 2¾-inch brass five-pillar centrepin trout fly reel by the renowned fishing tackle makers, Hardy Brothers of Alnwick. This finely crafted reel features a revolving brass faceplate, a fixed check mechanism, and a single tapered cow horn handle. The faceplate is stamped with the enclosed oval "Hardy's" logo and the maker's mark, "Hardy Bros. Makers Alnwick."
The reel retains an attractive original patina, reflecting its age and careful use. It measures approximately 3 cm in depth, excluding the handle, with the cow horn handle extending a further 2 cm. A fine example of an early Hardy brass trout fly reel from one of Britain's most celebrated fishing tackle manufacturers.
