A fine original Victorian oil on canvas, A Day's Catch, depicting a still life arrangement of freshwater fish displayed against a dark, subtly textured background. At the center lies a vibrantly rendered large pike, easily identified by its elongated body, pointed snout, and greenish-brown mottled scales. Beside it rest several smaller fish, likely roach or rudd, their silvery flanks and reddish fins catching the dim, diffused light.
