Vintage Marquetry Billiard Cue
A full size one piece cue with elaborate marquetry. The cue made in the mid-to-late 1800's in Europe. The main part of the cue is made of ash with the handle highly decorated with veneered points, boxwood stringing, coloured inlays and an inlaid gentleman. There are two wedges at the cue's butt, one of ivory and one of wood, along with a leather strip on the bottom of the cue. In the late 1800s, players could strike the ball with the tip, or push the ball with the butt side of the cue; the wedge would slide along the cloth. The wooden wedge stamped 'D. Harris, Dublin' and the ash shaft stamped with the weight '16 ½ oz'. A very nice desirable cue.
