Murton 'Star' Racket Tennis Press.
A very rare and unusual 'X' frame lawn tennis racket press. The decorative Murton 'Star' Racket tennis press is made from cast iron with four unusual corner fastenings. Each corner having a pivoted threaded clamp with cast attractive detailing, an early shaped racket with a ball. The body of the press is cast with the words 'Star Racket Press Patented, Murton Maker, Newcastle on Tyne'. Murton also produced a wooden lawn tennis racket with the same model name.
