A very good single tennis racket press made of Satin Beech-wood. The press complete with brass fittings and three bolts with cast brass wing nuts. The exterior of the wooden press with a polished finish.

This item was one of many Victorian tennis items that had been found in a summer house in the grounds of a Cheshire country house, Edge Hall. The vendor was an ancestor of Charlotte 'Lottie' Dod who won the ladies' singles title at Wimbledon five times in 1887, 1888, 1891, 1892 and 1893. She was then, and still is now the youngest winner aged only 15 years.
