Vintage Taxidermy, Scarlet Macaw Parrot.
"The perfect pet" a well prepared Macaw Parrot, mounted on a simulated bamboo perch with base. A spectacular, brightly colored long-tailed parrot in good condition with vibrant plumage and feathers. Taxidermist is unknown but it is an outstanding item. It is posed perched facing the viewer's right side looking out into the room.
Macaws are easily tamed, and some can speak very well and mimic sounds. Macaw is the common name for about 18 species of large colourful parrots native to tropical North and South America. With their large sickle-shaped beaks, macaws can crack open hard-shelled seeds and nuts, dislodging the nutmeat with their blunt muscular tongues. The beak also serves as a third foot as the macaw climbs about in trees searching for seeds, as well as fruits, flowers, and leaves.
