Puma Hunting Knife.
A fixed blade Puma-Werk, Solingen hunting knife in original leather sheath. The knife has a 4 1/4 inch fixed blade and a stag antler handle that houses three extra tools. One is a bonesaw which also includes a bottle opener, a gutting blade and a needle for sewing up the game once gutted to stop insects etc. getting into the cavity. There is a date code on the knife '22072' dating it to the second quarter of 1970. The blade etched with "Original Waidmesser für Schalenwild" on one side and "Puma-Werk, Solingen, made in Germany, Handarbeit, Bestell = No. 3591" on the other with the Puma logo. The leather sheath embossed "made in Germany, DBGM 1895046".

Each PUMA knife is factory stamped with a control number indicating in code the year and quarter of its manufacture. The coding system began in October 1964, any PUMA knife not bearing the control number was probably made prior to this date.
