Austrian Pheasant Table Strike Lighter.
An early 20th century Austrian cold painted spelter pheasant table lighter. The desk lighter is in the form of a nicely detailed standing cock pheasant by a tree stump set on a naturalistic base which is raised on a rectangular mahogany plinth. The tree stump conceals the fuel reservoir and houses the striker wand in the top, the tree root has an indented groove for the flint. The wooden base has green baize on the bottom which is stamped 'Made In Austria'.
