ANTIQUE HICKORY GOLF CLUB, SMOOTH FACE IRON, B.G.I., DUNN.
A good early hickory shafted smooth face iron with a good suede grip. The back of the club head stamped 'TRADE B.G.I. MARK' within an oval whilst the shaft is stamped 'B.G.I. 125'.
B.G.I. Co. (Bridgeport Gun Implement) was an American company, run by John Duncan Dunn and his uncle Willie Dunn Jr. and was one of the few American companies founded before 1900. Originally before selling golf clubs they sold firearms and stopped selling clubs around 1906.
