Antique Carpenter's Workbench, Hobelbank.
Antique Carpenter's Workbench, Hobelbank.
Antique Carpenter's Workbench.
A wonderful work bench with solid beech wood top and pine legs. The bench has two vices with metal threads, one on the front edge and the other on the right hand side. The top leading edge is drilled with square holes for use with metal bench dogs. The base is constructed with mortise and tenont joints held in place with nuts and bolts so that it can easily be dismantled. The bench is in a used condition but not so much as to make it an untidy piece of furniture, it would work just as well at home as a hall table or maybe a kitchen work table. Written in pencil on the underside of the bench is "Erbaut: 1946 Nov, von G. Eulenstin".
