Vintage Hardy 9'9" Split Cane 'Palakona' Fly Fishing Rod.
The Hardy 'J J H' rod is a split cane Palakona 3-piece trout fly rod with spare tip made by Hardy's of Alnwick. This rod is in very good, original condition with Hardy's 'stud' lockjoints, patent adjustable "screw grip" with fixed housing reel fitting (PAT. No. 14137), cork handle and open rings. The rod has the registration number D3426 dating it to 1924. The rod is 9' 9" long and comes with an old canvas bag. The rod has the black inscription spiralling around the shaft 'The 'John James Hardy, No.2', 'Palakona' and 'No. 246936'.
