Hardcover copies in original gilt-pictorial green cloth, with gilt titles to spine, and retaining the original green dust jackets. Volume I features a portrait frontispiece of Izaak Walton; Volume II features a portrait of Charles Cotton.
Includes fifty-three illustrations, comprising etchings by Percy Thomas, R.P.E., after paintings by John Linnell, Sr., as well as engravings of riverside animals and birds by G.E. Lodge.
The full title reads: The Complete Angler, Or The Contemplative Man's Recreation: Being a Discourse of Rivers, Fish-Ponds, Fish and Fishing by Izaak Walton and Charles Cotton. With an Abridgment of the Lives of the Authors by Sir John Hawkins, Knt., edited, with notes from a Naturalist's point of view, by J.E. Harting, Librarian of the Linnean Society of London.
