George Paice 1854-1925,
was a fairly prolific painter during his lifetime, he didn't feel the need to show his work much at public exhibitions as he made a very good living from private commission work.
He exhibitied 7 times at the Royal Academy and four times at the Royal Society of Brisitsh Artists.
Besides his small formal horse and dog portraiture or which he is best known today, Paice produced a small number of large point to point scenes. He married Eunice Mary Stuart at St. George's Hanover Square in 1879, living first in Pimlico before moving to Croydon.
