Vintage Garden Croquet Set.
A good croquet set in polished pine box with two carry handles. The set comes with four box wood croquet mallets with octagonal ash handles with cord grip (which helps a player 'feel' the alignment of the mallet in play). To complete the set there are four balls in the standard croquet colours, six bent metal hoops, two posts (the coloured bands indicating the order of play). There are also some boundary yard line pegs for marking the yard lines on a croquet court and four metal flag poles (no coloured flags) to mark the boundaries of the field of play.
The boxwood mallets all have ebony guide lines, one has a flat bottom and one is stamped 'F.H. Ayres Ltd, London, "The Wimbledon"'.
