Antique Bronzed Spelter Batsman - Cricket Figure
A very nice Edwardian spelter figure of a male cricketer wearing a cap and is equipped with a bat and cricket pads. His pose depicts him standing at the crease, awaiting the ball to be bowled. The figure has a bronzed finish and is mounted on a marble base with an inscribed plaque reading: "Zum 25 jӓhr. Dienst-Jubilӓum, v.d. Kameraden" ("On the occasion of the 25-year service anniversary, from the comrades").
Spelter is a white metal alloy commonly cast using the lost-wax process.
