Pair Of Thomas Taylor Lawn Bowls.
A nice pair of vintage 'Lignoid Deluxe' lawn bowls by 'Thomas Taylor, Glasgow'. The bowls have discs on both ends, one with a 'bird on a branch' the other with initials 'S Mc D'. The bowls are size 5 1/8", have a No.3 bias and carry an official BIBC (British Isles Bowling Council) expiry date stamp for 1992. This means the bowls should have been re-tested for the accuracy of the bias in 1992.
The original Thomas Taylor 'Lignoid' model bowl was in the traditional shape made to mimic the line of the old lignum vitae lawn bowls, they take a wide draw line, with a strong hook finish, ideal on slower pace surfaces, good beginners bowl for outside.
Stand sold separately.
