Golf Print, Sabbath Breakers, Dollman.
A fine golfing photogravure titled 'The Sabbath Breakers' after J.C Dollman, (John Charles 1851 - 1934). The picture shows John Henrie and Pat Rogie being discovered by two stern-looking clergymen whilst playing golf on the Sabbath at Leith Links in 1592, they were later prosecuted.
The artist was a member of the Royal Watercolour Society and The Royal Institute exhibiting at the Royal Academy between 1872 and 1904.

'The Sabbath Breakers, In 1592, John Henrie & Pat Rogie were prosecuted for playing Gouff the links of Leith every Sabbath during the time of the sermonses'. Painted by J.C Dollman, Entered according to act of Congress in the year 1896 by The Fine Art Society Ltd. in the Office of the Librarian of Congress at Washington.
