The Golfer.
A black and white signed etching by John R. Barclay. The picture depicts a golfer walking on the golf course smoking a pipe, carrying his golf bag over his shoulder. The fine original dry point etching is on antique laid paper with a large watermark and signed by the artist in pencil in the lower left margin, No. 10 in the right.
John Rankine Barclay was an important artist and engraver from Edinburgh, he was a golfer himself and illustrated for 'Golf Illustrated' magazine in the 1920's.
