Rowing Match Between Eton & Westminster, Rowed At Putney.
A very rare early coloured lithograph showing Eton leading Westminster at the finish line. The race was rowed from Putney Bridge to Mortlake church. Titled "match between Eton and Westminster, rowed at Putney, Aug. 1st 1843. The Eton winning by fourteen boats length". Extra detailing in margin:- R.K. Thomas del et lith, Day & Haghe Lithrs. to the Queen, Pubd. by Ingalton & Son, Eton, Ackermann & Co. Strand & Wyatt & Son, Oxford. Mounted in original black and gold frame with gilt lead corners.
There is an old auction write up on the print stating 'Rickett Collection 1974'.
