Ash Skis with Unique Safety Bindings

Ash Skis with Unique Safety Bindings

Sold

Antique Ash Skis with Unique Safety Bindings.
A nice pair of ridge top ash skis with rubber foot plates and galvanised safety bindings. The bindings have a Trusetal toe unit that was designed to allow the toe of the boot to pop out during a fall. The binding plate is marked 'TRUSETAL' with a 'snowman holding a pair of scissors' logo and the cable bindings are by Oberhof with coiled heel springs. The skis are polished with rounded tips and the running surface has a single groove along its length.

Adjustable toe irons with cable and coiled heel springs were very popular from the mid 1930's to early 1950's, although there were many design variations of these bindings.

Ski poles are sold separately and are available on request.
