A Winter Landscape Scene By Maximilian Strasky.
An outstandingly fine work by Maximilian Strasky portraying a winter alpine landscape with a cabin in the distance with a large mountain range, the Grossvenediger, in the background. Signed bottom right hand corner 'M. Strasky'. Maximilian Strasky is an Austrian painter who was born in 1895. The rear of the frame with two paper labels, one is 'Frost & Reed, (studios) Ltd., Bristol,Clare Street, London, 41 New Bond Street, Artistic Frame Makers Established 1808. Fine Art Publishers, Picture Reparation, No. 36075, Date 16.9.36'. The second does have a small part missing but reads 'F.R. it is important that this label should never be destroyed. The evidence............the registered stock number has in the past proved to be of very great v.........purposes of identification and authenticity. ARTIST: Strasky 20gas. TITLE: "Grossvenediger." Registered number 13060, 20 X 25 1/2'.
3.666 meters high the Grossvenediger is Austria's fourth highest mountain. It has one of the most impressive glacier summits of the Eastern Alps.
