Large George Mason Co. Casino Roulette Wheel
A rare and large late 19th, early 20th century American professional saloon roulette wheel, the turret marked 'THE GEO. MASON CO. MAKERS. DENVER. COLO.' with exotic woods and the circular hardwood outer section highly carved in relief with ornamental foliage. The central wheel with 36 numbered compartments (18 red and 18 black) with a green compartment with a single zero marked A.P.B., London, the wheel diameter 55½ cm. The central brass spindle locator also marked GEO. MASON & CO., MAKERS DENVER to the underside and numbered 1079, the wooden part of the base numbered 229. There are eight chrome diamonds on the ball track and the varnish on the wood with a cracking effect on the surface. This very nice robust professional roulette wheel is in great working order and is made by one of the best manufacturers of gaming equipment in America, George Mason, Colorado.
