A fine unnamed wooden lawn tennis racket by George Bussey. The ash framed racket in excellent condition with convex wedge and original two-tone stringing, the stringing with three rows of black trebling at the top and a single row at the bottom. The butt with an embossed leather "When not in use protect with Bussey's airtight cover and press. The ash frame with chamfer and original shoulder whipping and has white horizontal gut strings and red vertical strings, two of which are damaged.
In 1887 GEO.G.BUSSEY & Co. were known as the largest manufacturer of athletic goods in London.
