Spalding Rut Niblick.
A good quality, smooth and dished faced, rut niblick golf club with hickory shaft. The head stamped on the back 'Crescent' hand forged with the Spalding logo (cleek mark). A nice desirable golf collectable. The club head has an unusual cupped or concave face with a chrome plated finish.
Head size:- 3' long, 2 ¼' high.

Some people categorise these types of clubs as track or rut irons, but by the late 1880's track or rut irons were being replaced by a lighter and more refined iron. These clubs were different as the head was slightly larger, the blade was not as thick and they had a shorter hosel. This type of club is now commonly referred to as a 'rut niblick'.
