A mounted Michael Lyne sketch. One of many sketches and studies taken from Michael's own sketch book found at his studio. There are many delightful images advailable, some just pencil, some coloured, and like this picture, double sided.
Michael Lyne (1912 - 1989) was born in Herefordshire and studied at the Cheltenham School of Art and continued to live much of his life in this Gloucestershire town. His subject matter concentrated a good deal on horses, hounds and the countryside following very much in the tradition of Aldin, Snaffles, Edwards and Stewart.
