Antique Uniqua Fishing Reel by Hardy.
A Hardy Bros. Uniqua, early mark II Duplicated lightweight alloy contracted reel with double check mechanism, ivorine handle, smooth brass foot, and a nickel silver horseshoe –shaped latch; this latch was an important design feature as it enabled the easy removal of the drum with no tools involved. The reel is in very good original condition. Stamped on the back plate ‘Made by Hardy Bros. Ltd. Alnwick, England,’ ‘The “Uniqua” Fly Reel’, ‘size 2 7/8’, ‘PAT Nos.24245 & 9261’ and’ Duplicated. Mark II’.
