Antique Snow Shoes.
A large pair of Snow Shoes constructed from hickory frames and stretchers with finely interlaced gut supports.
They are North American, in original condition. Snowshoes were a common form of transport and sport amongst North American natives and were later taken up by settlers like fur trappers. These were made possibly by the Cree or Objibwa Indian. Snow shoeing later became a weekend sporting activity.
