The Schotten Hickory Golf Challenge 2011
The Schotten Hickory Golf Challenge took place on the 22nd July, 2011.
Our Hickory Golf Challenge was started in 1999 and proved so popular that it is now an annual event. We supply the golfers with a set of antique hickory shafted clubs with which to play a serious 18 hole tournament, but if you have your own set of hickories you are welcome to use them. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term “hickory” it is the wood out of which golf clubs used to be made.
The tournament is now well established at Burford Golf club and after a successful day (for some) players and partners congregate in the clubhouse for well deserved drinks and dinner followed by cheerful speeches and prize giving.
